IMR returned to Lviv with an expansion of last year’s curriculum of didactic as well as hands-on training in Emergency Medicine.  Specifically, our training seminar focused on resuscitation, with careful review of validated protocols in cardiopulmonary disease, trauma, pediatric demise, obstetrical/gynecological emergencies, as well as psychiatric distress.  The coursework included lectures, ultrasound, and simulated cases to reinforce important concepts in the recognition and management of critically ill patients.

Our wonderful hosts, the University of Lviv, spearheaded by Dr. Marta Halkevych, Assistant of the Department of Family Medicine, welcomed us back in continuing the growth of our affiliation with IMR.  During the week, we trained approximately 50 Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine resident physicians, culminating with IMR presenting certificates of completions to each of our learners.

IMR’s Medical Team comprised of Drs. Emily Unks, Irina Sanjeevan-Cabeza, Jessica Poster, Trish Camino, as well as IMR Co-Founders Drs. Ambereen Sleemi and Josh Schiller.

We look forward to returning to Lviv as our relationship continues to evolve and grow.  In the meantime, we offer support and hope for an imminent end of the war so the people of Ukraine can thrive freely without the threat of conflict.
